The Story of The Foxy Unicorn T-shirt

This is Carlene’s oldest daughter, Hallie.  Hallie is 11 years old and very creative. If you’ve read our bio, than you know that she is how Boss and Michael’s got it’s name. When she was about 2, she named one foot Boss, and the other foot, Michael. When her parents would get mad at her for kicking someone or something, she would say, “It wasn’t me! It was Boss and Michael!”  Hallie would also complain about Boss and Michael fighting with each other while they were kicking each other. You could say that she has been a very creative since the day she was born. 😀

Hallie loves to draw and write, she hopes to be an advertisement writer or an author when she grows up.  She says that she is always making up commercials in her mind for everything that she looks at. And she has been making her own books since the day she could write ( which was actually pretty young).

Now, to the reason for this post…..  Hallie is also the designer of this Foxy Unicorn t-shirt.  She drew this combination of a fox and a unicorn all by herself. This is quite amazing for an 11 year old girl! It has already become a favorite design among many, because who doesn’t love foxes and Unicorns? This shirt is the best because it makes them into one- Foxy Unicorn. It’s also great because, since it was designed by a young girl, we know that the young girls will love it, just as much as the adults do that buy it for them! Here’s to Hallie! Hopefully, this is just the beginning of her designing and producing career!

We have also put this design onto a baby bodysuit. We love it for a baby boy or a baby girl! It may just be the cutest little bodysuit ever!!

Ute Stampede 5K Race

 carway irunfrommykidstank

Carlene should have worn this tank in her race this morning…(which she killed it FYI and took 1st in her age group) because her son who is 9 was right on her heels and took 1st in the 12 and under category! I’m kind of glad I couldn’t run that race today since I am not ready for my nephew to beat me in a race yet😂😂

Get this and other funny I RUN tanks in our Etsy shop, link in profile👆🏽

Happy 4th of July 2016!!

Carlene, her husband Kyle, and her son Waylon, ran the Uncle Sam 4k in St. George Utah. They gave beards and hats along with shirts, so everyone could be Uncle Sam.  It was Waylon’s first race and he did awesome!

Working with AshLee Frazier

We had the opportunity to work with AshLee Frazier (from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelor in Paradise”) to make her this tee.  She has been known to say that she “will work out for queso.” It was so much fun to work with her on this design.

American Diva Photoshoot

When working with a 2 year old and a 3 year old, sometimes it’s hard to get a decent shot. If one was cooperating, then the other one wasn’t. This is how it went when we were trying to take pictures of our “American Diva” and red “Lani Lace Shorts.”

A Little Bit About Us

Carlene and La-Shana started Boss & Michael’s in late 2014 as a way to earn a little extra income while being able to stay at home with their kids. They started out selling mostly scarves and leggings and gradually worked their way into doing their own screen-printed tees. They still sell a variety of things at and
Their kids have had a big impact on Boss & Michael’s. Carlene’s oldest daughter, Hallie, is how they got their name. When Hallie was only 2, she named her feet. One was named Boss, and the other was named Michael. She used to say that Boss and Michael were fighting when they would kick each other. And she would blame it on them when she would kick someone. The names Boss and Michael stuck and eventually became the name of this shop.
Carlene’s youngest helped come up with one of the most popular shirts, “little dude.” One day while brainstorming for new shirt ideas, Raquel called someone a little dude, and a light bulb lit up for Carlene and La-Shana and the rest is history.  They married brothers who both are school teachers and coach basketball.
